Hake is free to download and free to paint with. Hake Pro is a single one-time purchase that unlocks more of it. What you paint is yours, entirely, and we never see it, because the app has no internet permission. Buy Hake Pro once and it stays with your Google account, on any device, with no subscription. Refunds go through Google Play. Your rights as a consumer under the law where you live always come first. All of it is set out in full below.
These terms apply to the Hake mobile application for Android (package name
com.hake.app), distributed through Google Play, and to the purchase of
Hake Pro inside it. Throughout this document, "Hake", "the app", "we" and "us" refer
to the developer of Hake; "you" refers to the person using the app.
Hake is made and offered by an individual developer. The developer's name, address and contact details are shown on Hake's Google Play listing, under App support, and you can always reach us at contact@hakepaint.app.
By installing or using Hake you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not install or use the app. Google Play's own terms of service also apply to anything you download or buy through Google Play.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install Hake on devices you own or control and to use it for any purpose, personal or professional. The app itself, its code, its paint engine, its papers, brushes and artwork remain ours or our licensors'.
You agree not to:
Hake includes some third-party components, such as fonts, under their own licences. Those licences are listed in full in the app, under Help → About, and they take precedence over these terms for those components.
Everything you make with Hake belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it, no licence to it, and no right to use it in any way. You may sell, publish, print or share your paintings, exported pictures and time lapses however you like, commercially or not, without crediting Hake. If you would like to, the tag is #madewithhake, and we would love to see it.
Because Hake has no internet permission, your work never reaches us. It also means we cannot recover it for you: your paintings live only on your device, and uninstalling the app deletes them. Export anything you want to keep. How your data is handled is described in full in the Privacy Policy.
Hake Pro is a single one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features of the painting tools. It is not a subscription and never renews. The price is shown in Google Play, in your local currency and including any applicable tax, before you confirm the purchase.
Hake Pro is digital content supplied immediately. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made at a distance. For digital content, that right ends once the content has started to be supplied with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right to cancel. Google Play asks for that consent and acknowledgement when you buy, and Hake Pro is unlocked straight away.
That does not leave you without a way back. You can ask for a refund through Google Play's refund process, which is usually the fastest route. And if Hake Pro does not work as described, or something is wrong with it, write to us at contact@hakepaint.app and we will put it right or help you get your money back.
Hake needs Android 8.0 or later and a graphics processor capable of running its paint engine. We test it on real phones and tablets, but Android runs on an enormous range of hardware, and we cannot promise that every feature runs equally well on every device. The free version lets you try the paint on your own device before you buy anything.
We may update the app from time to time, and an update may require a newer version of Android. We may also stop offering Hake in Google Play in the future. If that happens, an installed copy, and Hake Pro with it, keeps working on your device.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the consumer law of the country where you live, including the legal guarantee that digital content conforms to what was described, and nothing limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that:
You can stop using Hake at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms, for example by redistributing the app or circumventing the purchase of Hake Pro. Sections 3, 7 and 10 continue to apply after the terms end.
If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date before it applies. A change will never take away Hake Pro from anyone who has bought it. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the app; continued use after the change means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the law of Romania. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.
If something goes wrong, please write to us first. Most problems are quicker to solve by email than any other way. If we cannot resolve it, you can also contact the consumer protection authority in your country.
